Dynamics in the global solar energy (PV) market and the Chinese solar industry

International conference in Shanghai offers insight into impact of financial crisis, emerging Chinese companies and factories, with participants from across the globe.
SolarPlaza, a leading expert on the global solar industry, will host an international conference in Shanghai on Nov. 25, exploring the impact of today's financial crisis on sustainable energy development and the future of the promising photo-voltaic cell industry.

This conference, with participants from across the world, will offer insight to industry leaders on how to survive the ongoing economic crisis, as well as discuss unlocking the potential of China's emerging solar industry.

The conference takes place during a week-long international trade mission to China, from Nov. 24 to 28, which includes an inside look at up-and-coming Chinese companies and new technologies. The Chinese solar industry is one of the fastest-growing in the world, with now over 100 large solar module manufacturers. With the economic crisis, prices worldwide will continue to drop.

Solar cell manufacturing is at the forefront of the wave of green technology, with hundreds of millions invested in its development worldwide.

Speakers at the conference will include Edwin Koot, CEO of SolarPlaza, an expert on the development of the global market, who will analyze the dynamics of the marketplace. Rory Macpherson, investor relations director at Suntech Power Holdings Co, Ltd., will discuss price fluctuations and the challenge of oversupply in China, as well as technology developments.

Thin-film manufacturers, such as ET Solar and CSI Solar will discuss new landscapes in the supply chain and how to bring cell cost down. Dozens of other industry experts will discuss how to bring cost down during a time of economic crisis.
